Would you be kind enough to share with me your opinion concerning the plausibility of the following sentences?
To go in an elevator.
To go up in an elevator.
To take an elevator.
To use an elevator.
To ride in an elevator.

A elevator operator (in British English, usually lift man, lift woman, or lift girl) is a person specifically employed to operate a manually operated elevator.
An elevator (also called a lift ) is a device for vertical raising and lowering people and freight.
An elevator operator usually operates an elevator.
We took the elevator to the tenth floor.
The elevator shoes are shoes having unusually thick soles and heels, designed to make a person appear taller than he or she actually is.
The service elevator is an elevator for carrying large or heavy items, or for the use of service people.
A space elevator is a proposed structure designed to transport material from a celestial body's surface into space.
Grain elevators are buildings or complexes of buildings for storage and shipment of grain.
A bucket elevator, also called a grain leg, is a mechanism for hauling flow able bulk materials (most often grain or fertilizer) vertically.
A Sabbath elevator is an elevator which works in a special mode, stopping automatically on every floor, to allow for the Jewish law for abstaining from using electricity on Sabbath.

Nice compilation of different types of elevators. The most interesting is the Space Elevetor which would be used for traspotation of materials from other planets to space. Scintists hope that an elevator could make transportation to space so much more inexpensive than it is now, that companies could build large solar-power farms in space to provide energy for people on Earth. That could eliminate the need to burn fossil fuels and thus reduce global warming.
