I need help from teachers who teach ESL listening and speaking skills
Hi ESL teachers,
I am studying a certificate course in TESOL at a teacher school in Manila, Philippines. My subjects are teaching listening and speaking. I would like to ask here if anyone of you give me some tips on how to teach speaking in the classroom using several strategies that are easy to teach. or anyone of you who could suggest websites that can provide sample lesson plans or activities on teaching speaking that are downloadable for free please.
Thanks,
Drinnie

Hi Drinnie,
The site I do recommend is this very one UsingEnglish.com, it has a very rich material. I think someone else could suggest some websites you could use for preparing your lessons. I would also appreciate that.
I suggest that, after you prepare some of your lessons, you come back here with specific comments and questions on them.

You should find something useful or helpful here. Of course, you don't have to follow a plan exactly as presented here. You can do your own variation on it, or just use what you read here to help build your own ideas.

Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab - This site should help provide you with some ideas.

Here are some links to podcasts. You can download the MP3s for free. Use whatever media is available to you for class: burn a regular audio CD, use an iPOD with speakers, use a CD player that plays CDRWs - put the the MP3 files on the CD. I prefer simply using a notebook computer because you can easily stop the recording, go back, or go forward. It's easy to hear certain passages with repetition with a notebook computer as well.
