    Default Don't mention it.

    Tzyli: Thanks a lot.
    Allie: Don't mention it.
Twostep: I can't help but laughing! Last night...HAHAHAHHAHA....he was silly and he really made an ass of himself in front of his future parents-in-law.

    Tzyli: Yeah, it was sad.

Twostep: It was. I don't wanna mention it twice but it was, SO rediculous.
There was a serious car accident last night but I don't want to mention it again.
Can I use "don't mention it" to ask someone to stop repeating or referring to a certain history?

Yes. There's "Don't mention it, please" or "Don't mention it again, please"

Or you can say: "don't bring it up anymore". Same thing.

You will never ever catch me using "wanna"! And you cannot use don't mention it for it.

You may use it to cover up a certain embarrassement. Thank you so much for taking care of this, thank you again and again .... Don't mention it. - Quit bringing it up, no reason to make a fuss about it.

What does "never ever" mean? Is it different from only "never"?

    Absolutely never, not ever.

    Hi Nan!

Except for Twostep's great explanation, I'd like to add my two cents worth.
"Ever" serves as an intensifier that makes the mood stronger.
