Fill in the gaps
Fill in the gaps numbered with on suitable word:
Stress is our body's reaction to events or conditions that we can't easily manage or (1) control. When we are troubled by something, we usually experience some type of (2) stress. There are thousands of conditions that (3) lead us to become tense. These may be major and horrible: fighting for our lives in a war, being imprisoned or facing death. On the other hand, minor (4) problems in our daily lives cause stress as well: aiding in (5)............, taking a quiz, or asking for or accepting a date. Although we usually think of stress as something caused (6) by unpleasant events, pleasant happenings also bring on stress. Vacations, pay rises, and winning an award all (7) bring tension in our body.
As new (8) study is done on the effects of stress, new techniques are developed to help (9) avoid with anxiety. One aid is to plan for situations that we know will be (10)...............Some imagine the event before it happens, thus preparing their minds and bodies for the tension. Other people relax or (11) stop at regular intervals to lessen the muscle strains in their bodies. Still others (12) imagine they are on a pleasant beach lying in the sunshine; soon their bodies relax and tension melts away. Other people believe (13) that exercise helps the body handle the problems of daily life. And for still others, joining with other people fo games or parties helps them become less anxious. It (14) matters very little which method we use to relax; what does matter is finding the time to temporarily reduce the effects of modern life on our (15) mind and body.
There are still some blanks I cannot fill. Are the filled ones correct?
Thank you for help.

Re: Fill in the gaps
I am puzzled by number 5 ...aiding in preperations? I don't know.
I wouldn't use happened for number 10. Maybe happening or occurring

Re: Fill in the gaps
we usually experience some type of (2) stress.
Do I need to use the plural form of stress?
And which word is most suitable for the (5) and (10)?
Thank you.

Re: Fill in the gaps
I would use singular form 'stress',
Number 5 has more than one possibility, since aiding means helping/assisting we could use various words here.
For number 10 I would use either happening or occurring
Don't forget, I am not a teacher and I am only giving here my personal opinion, others may dissagree
Take care
