Default vocabulary words

The term "vocabulary words" comes up a lot in things that I read.
For example: Become familiar with the vocabulary words found in the article.
Is that a good way of using it? Wouldn’t just one of those words be sufficient?

Thanks.

Default Re: vocabulary words

It is a bit unnecessary. I suppose the idea is to distinguish the words from grammatical words.
