I haven't met 'on the clean side of the blanket' but in this case it seems to mean 'not getting involved in the giving or receiving of sexual favours'. The 'Breathtaking creatures' are presumable eager young starlets who don't care who they sleep with in order to get a contract.

He's just saying that they get involved in deals where a lot of money is involved. He goes on to say that other things are offered as well.
