    Exclamation english question

    My question is: to what extent is it true that "contemporary society desperately needs literature and the literary imagination". Firstly i need to define liteary imagination and I really don't understand the concept, secondly I need to give specific examples and my "opinion", yet I dont quite know what hte question is asking PLEASE HELP!
