Holding my ear?

Hello Everyone,

At the class of elimentary school here in my area, teachers often scolding the kids by holding the kid's ear if the student fails to finish their homework, chats with each other during the class, not listens to the teacher attentively... The " hold" act is like this: pinch the top edge of the ear and then pull the ear up. I would like to know here if there is a proper spoken English to describe the act?

Such things happened in the past in western schools but they don;t happen anymore, Sky. As I recall, I think to describe that we said, "the teacher pulled his/her ear".

Hmmmmm, again, as I remember, I don't recall it ever happening to a female.

Maybe there was a set phrase that I've forgotten. [confused emoticon]

As a matter of fact, here we, parents, often "pull" our kids' ear by scolding!
