Is "fall upon the private initiative" something one can say in English?
The organization of sport falls upon the private initiative.
The sentence is an almost direct translation from French. Basically, it means that private bodies are responsible for the organization of sport. Just wondering whether a direct translation is possible.
Re: private initiative
I would say; "The organisation of sport depends apon private initiative."
