As a result of...
My slow progress was due to bad teaching.
-> As a result of bad teaching, my progress was slow.(1)
-> As a result of being taught badly, I progressed slowly.(2)
Are both of these sentences correct? And which one sounds better?
Thank you for help.

Both are correct. I would prefer (1) But better would by combining good sounding part from both; as:
As a result of being taught badly, my progress was slow.(3)
