Preposition / appropriate use of "in" Vs. "on"

I need to find a good reference about the appropriate use of these two prepositions ("in" and "on"). I do not like to chat over the net. I would rather be directed to a good source I can read. Thanks.

I see that you're in Minnesota. Go to your local library and if they don't have these books you can ask for them thru interlibrary loan, Guev.
