Looking for the correct word

Dear teachers,

Does the word “append” means further add on of new data to the existing data in a list? If not, what is the correct word to use?

“Information concerning the amendments has been appended to the list of Section 8”

Please help

Yes. In your example sentence append is synonymous with added.
