What is the common expression when you ask student to contine reading in class? Can I say as follows?
Bill, don't stop in the middle of a sentence. Keep reading.
Also, what is a proper expression in the following sentence?
What do you think about the author's point? or
What do you think of the author's point? or
How do you think about the author's point?

Bill, don't stop in the middle of a sentence. Keep reading. < Yes, you can say "keep reading". This is correct.
What do you think about the author's point? - Say "point of view" or "viewpoint" and then the sentence is correct. You could say "What do you think about the point the author made?"
What do you think of the author's point? < The same answer applies here as above. You can say "think about" or "think of". Both are correct.
How do you think about the author's point? < Use "what" not "how" for this sentence.

Using "on" adds emphasis. There's no difference in meaning, however.
