Smile lead?

Hello

I'd like to check how to use "lead." Would you take a look at #1?

#1 Business took my father to New York last week.

Can I interchange "took" and "led" like #2? Or should the subject of "lead" a road like #3?

#2 Business led my father to New York last week.
#3 This street leads you to the station.

Thank you.

Default Re: lead?

#3 is fine. I wouldn't use it in the other examples when you're talking about a trip. If he moved permanently from to New York for business, then 'lead' would be OK, but not for a trip.
