I was talking to Miss Paynter about the Zone Finals coming up.
In this sentence, Zone Finals refers to region/area finals or something else?

... But - I've just thought - that possibly-arbitrary definition of 'zone' would put it either above or below 'region' or 'area' in the hierarchy prescribed by a particular competition. (That's a fancy way of saying an area or region might be divided into zones, or a zone might be divided into areas and/or regions.) Wasn't Cindy/-ie(?) Paynter an ice skater? Maybe it has something to do with Canadian administrative boundaries... (guessing here
)
