Lemonade is a carbonated (fizzy) drink like Coca Cola, but lemon flavoured and clear. Flat lemonade is lemonade that has lost its fizz.

I mean we say "lemonade" for lemonade with no fizzy. So there is no different for me between lemonade and flat lemonade ;)

Flat lemonade is often given in cases of upset stomach because it's a palatable way to take fluids, if it were fizzy it might cause discomfort in the stomach. (not a doctor, just a parent).

Re: flat lemonade
Well, in Germany we give our children flat cola and pretzel sticks. The idea is the same: When you are ill you need a lot a fluid and electrolytes. And it's easier to get kids to drink lemonade, then plain water or tea. Plus it's a small comfort.
