Hi,
Is this appropriate and if not, then why?
I am from Boston only.
Thanks
I am too from Boston.
I am from Boston too.
More simply:
I've always lived in Boston.
or
I've never lived anywhere but Boston.
I am from Boston only.
It's grammatically correct, but there are those who would find it questionable out of context because placing "only" at the end of the sentence is what I call a secondary adverb placement as opposed to primary adverb placement or usual adverb placement. It is decidedly emphatic to place "only" at the end of the sentence. Therefore, out of context it would be questionable to those who may have less flexible views of adverb placement. This is not to say anything against those views, however. It's just a comment on my part.
So for this sentence to not ... Whoops!![]()

I almost split an infinitive. Let's start again. So for this sentence not to seem strange or odd in any way, some context is required to justify placing "only" at the end of this sentence, as placing it at the end gives it strong emphasis which really should find justification within a given context. We would have to know what came before in the dialog to really unders ... Whoops!

I almost split an infinitive again
. Okay, take two: We would have to know what came before in the dialog to understand the justification for placing "only" at the end of the sentence.
