Default each woman or each women ?

I've read a short story recently.

    It contains a following sentence.

"Cut the baby in half, and give half to each women."

I've studied that only singular nouns can come after 'each'.

    My knowledge is wrong?

    Dear kalkin:

    You are correct.

The sentence should read, '...give half to each woman.' Alternatively, it could be: '...give half to each of the women.'

    I hope this is helpful,

    Petra
