Man & men

I usually pronounce the word "man and men" the same way. Can you help me distinguish the difference in pronunciation by telling me where to place my tongue as a pronounce these words? thank you? I also have trouble pronouncing the "a" in words such as land, bad, dad.

The tongue position is of no importance. For the /æ/ of 'man' (and 'land, bad, dad'), open your mouth widely; for the /e/ of 'men', smile thinly as you speak.
