    Arrow Usage of Visit

    Hi,

Is this appropriate in spoken English and does it have any grammatical logic?

Visit is not used by the common people. As it is only the President or the Bureaucrats who visit. Instead we use go or went.

    Thanks

    Default Re: Usage of Visit

No, I can't any validity to this reasoning at all.

When we were on vacation, with visited with my brother and his family. We visited the Royal Ontario Museum. We visited the grave of my great uncle.

In the South in the US, visit doesn't even have to be transitive. When we go visit the cousin in Arkansas, we don't do much except sit around and visit, which is just fine with us.
