it felt like the fi rst time in forever ??

'forever' seems to be developing a figurative use, an emphatic use, Tinker, which means a long long time or what seems to the speaker to be a long long time. Whether it will last long, only time will tell.

Ohhhhh sushi, yum yum yum yum, I haven't had any forever.
