Default Re: sometimes

Use some time (two words), if you can omit some and the resulting sentence remains grammatical. For example, I will call you some time is incorrect because if we omit the word some the resulting sentence doesn't make sense: I will call you time.

Ex: Let's go out _____.
1. some time
2. sometime

Ex: I need ______ to think about it.
1. some time
2. sometime

Ex: ______ I don't understand a single word.
1. Some times
2. Sometimes

Ex: Choose ______ for us to meet.
1. some time
2. sometime

Ex: She will visit us ______ next year.
1. some time
2. sometime

Ex: Pick ______ for the conference call and get back to me.
1. some times
2. sometimes

From The UVic Writer's Guide: Sometime / Sometime / Sometimes

Some time as two words means a span of time: "We spent some time in the lion's cage."

Sometime as one word means "at an unspecified time": "Let's have lunch sometime."

Sometimes means "now and then": "Sometimes I go to the gravel pit and roll around in the sand."
