(In the story, the little boy hit a foul ball far, far away twelve times away and everyone watching was very surprised and amazed.) What does the bolded part mean? Please help!!!

After every one, whistles and shouts and even clapping for baseballs as foul as baseballs could ever be.

It seems to mean he was fouling off pitches and they weren't even close to being in fair territory. He was apparently hitting them very far, but very foul—nowhere near the playing field so that there was no chance anyone could catch one of them. If they had been in fair territory, they would have been homeruns.
