I haven't been going to the club since January.

Does this sentence necessarily imply that I have never gone there at all, or could it mean that I just haven't gone there on a regular basis, or as an active member or anything, but I might have dropped in a couple of times.

That says to me that you haven't been there since January. It also says that you were there in January. How many times you went there in January or how often you went there previous to that is something I cannot tell from that sentence.

My question was about the possibilty of my having dropped in a couple of times after January. Apparently the sentence rules this out and is equivalent to: "I haven't been there since January."

That is correct. If you haven't been there since January you couldn't have "dropped in" in the meantime.
