was open ?
Hello to everyone,
recently i've been reading a book on prepositions and stumbled upon the phrase "the window was open". so it is a passive voice construction and "open" used instead of "opened".
As far as i know the verb must be in past participle. or, are there any exceptions to the rule?
thanks

The phrase "the window was open" is not passive voice. "The window was opened..." is passive voice
