unique province?
"Within a few minutes Kit was in the deep sleep that is the unique province of overwrought children."
What does that mean by saying "the unique province of overwrought children?"
Thanks.

Re: unique province?
Whether true or not, I'll not debate, but it means that overwrought children have an ability to fall into a deep sleep; by saying it was a unique ability (or "province"), the writer suggests that others, who are not overwrought, cannot duplicate this ability - it is uniquely the province of overwrought children.
