The Oxford English Dictionary lists "like a house on fire" among proverbial colloquial phrases containing "house." Its definition is "as fast as a house would burn; very fast or vigorously."

Actually Rona wrote that post in Polish
I don't know how would that sentence look in Czech. Rona, would it be similar to Polish? To be honest with you people say our languages are very similar and we should understand each other without any problems, but I always had difficulties to understand it. Maybe because I have not heard enough of it to get it know better, the language I mean.
