One word to describe this is "sloshes."
Ex:
When the plane hit some turbulence the beer in my cup sloshed around so much I was sure it would spill.
I am looking for a (verb ) word that describes the movement of liquid from its bottom to top of a vessel or a bottle when the latter is taken or transported with violent movements. In other words, the water rises to the top and falls to its actual level because of its movement.

... and when the shaking stops, the liquid 'settles'. A similar thing happens with cereals. To prevent people from asking 'Why is the packet so much bigger than it has to be?' the manufacturer usually prints a disclaimer - 'Some settlement of the contents may have occurred in transit'.

Does 'slosh' refer to both the sound and movement as well? I was under the impression that 'slosh' is the sound of the liquid in a container.
