Is it possible to say
1 Plays were acted during the day
2 Plays were played during the day
3. Plays were performed during the day.
Is there a difference between act/play/perform?
Are there combinations in which only one of them is possible and the other two aren't acceptable?

2. Plays were played during the day. (plays and played are too similar)
3. Plays were performed during the day.
