Hi, I'd like to kbnow which sentence is correct.


1) Once only men could act, while today also women can do it
2) Once only men could act, while today women also can do it.

As for "also", I like 2), but the sentence is awkward. What about?

In those days, men/male actors played both male and female roles.

And where would you place ALSO in this sentence?

1 In the Elizabethan period there were only male actors, who Also impersonated females roles

2 In the Elizabethan period there were only male actors, who impersonated also females roles
