Default Is this cloze test correct?

Hi,

Could somebody please help me with this cloze test, I think it has some errors.
I filled in the ones I was sure about and just left the ones I thought had errors.
At noon, just as I was leaving my friend's office, it suddenly came to my mind that I had no idea where I had parked my car. I could __1__ go up to a policeman and tell him that I had lost a small green car somewhere! I would simply have to look for it myself. I walked down street after street. I examined each car closely and was very much __2__ to see a small green car just behind an old car. But how __3__ I was to discover that though the car was exactly like my own, it belonged to someone else.

1- 1) hardly 2) kindly 3) merely 4) truly
2-
1) available 2) comfortable 3) miserable 4) responsible
3- 1) emotional 2) experienced 3) conscious 4) terrible

Thanks in advance.

None of the options for 2 are correct.

The answer given for 2 is "comfortable". It doesn't fit in at all, does it?

How about 3? The answer given for that is "terrible". What do you think about that?

That's not good either.

Perhaps the person who wrote the erroneous test was thinking of the word "comforted." It's not a great fit, but it works. The third should be "disappointed."

The answer of 1 is "hardly", I think it's correct but somehow the sentence just doesn't seem right to me.

Has the word been used correctly?
