Default A little sugar high?

Hi!

I read a book about Sasha Cohen. There is the sentence, I don't understand.

Right before my warm-up I had a brownie in the competitor's lounge, which put me on a little sugar high.

What do the underlined words mean in this context?
In which context can I say "Smth. put me on a little sugar high"?

A 1000000000000000000000 thanks.

Nicky.
