| Dear Sir or Madam, ... Yours faithfully Dear Mr X, ... Yours sincerely If you use a name, end with 'sincerely'. If you do not use a name, use 'faithfully'. |

| If you're writing to someone in the US say "Sincerely yours." "Faithfully yours" sounds archaic to these yankee ears. |

| In Britsh English, we don't often use 'Sincerely yours', and I don't think I've ever seen 'Faithfully yours'. |
