Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am on the right track with my intrpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?

Defer the spoil of the city until night.
spoil (n) = archaic. The act of plundering; spoliation

God . . . will not long defer to vindicate the glory of his name.
defer (v) = hold back to a later time
vindicate (v) = maintain, uphold, or defend; clear of accusation, blame, suspicion, or doubt with supporting proof

The firm supplies goods on deferred payments.
deferred payments = payments to be made at some future date; payments extended over a period of time or put off to a future date. (Installment payments)
(to pay in installments)

We have to hold a special session on problems of air pollution.
session = an assembly of people for a common purpose or because of a common interest; a meeting of a legislative or judicial body for the purpose of transacting business

It was resolved that the convocation should meet at the beginning of the next session of Parliament.

Joint sessions of the United States Cogress are the gatherings together of both houses of the United States Congress (the House of Representatives and Senate).
session = sitting
