What's the difference between the verbs "rent" and "hire" for British English? I thought I knew but now when I tried to research it I confused myself and haven't the foggiest what the difference is now. :( HELP!!!
Well, I believe "rent" is more for a temporare usage and "hire" for a long.
2 examples.
I rent a car for 2 days.
I hired this guy - from now on he will work for me (until he gets fired)
However, I'm not a teacher and therefore I cannot say it's 100% true what I've written.
Cheers!
