    From my humble experience with technical English, I would say the last two are the most common, and thus natural ones. Rotatory may exist but rotative looks wierd and you only need the last two anyway.

    In your case, (although I've forgotten all my highschool chemistry, I do have a hard time imagine how a 'solid' flows?) this container contraption has to rotate throughout the duration as long as you're messing with this 'solid', which makes it a 'rotating cylinder'. 'rotary' would sound like this thing is capable of rotating but there's no indication when and for what reason it rotates or not. So I would suggest 'rotating cylinder'.

    Again, English is my second language and teaching English has never been my profession.
