Alone in [] city

Hello!
My question is a very simple one.
Is there any possibility to use the phrase
Alone in city
this way, without ANY article? If it is a poem or a song? Because I know there is a song called
Best thing in town (Green Day).
Any comments would be welcomed.

We use "in town" but not "in city".
