| If you look at the entire poem / song, and work out logically what is being said, then you may find out for yourself. You ask for help, but make no attempt to suggest what you think the meaning is. |

| Anglika, I don't know if it's quite fair to assume that the questioner didn't try. I find that drawing inferences in the text written in L2 is no easy job. The reader has to be relatively unhindered by the language barrier to be able to read between the lines. As for the question itself, I don't think I can quite make the connection between the first and the second sentence. I wonder if they mean "You discriminate against people who have food and yet you have the best of everything. You're a fine one to talk!" - HKB |

| I do not disagree with you, but if the questioner had attempted to work out for themself the meaning, they could have suggested a meaning. Just to ask for other people to answer "what does this mean?" rather indicates that no attempt has been made. It is particularly a problem with modern song writing where meaning can be quite a problem for the best educated English speaker. In these cases we are all making a quess. |
