Default what you re doing/what are you doing

"What you are doing is so disgusting."

OR

"What are you doing is so disgusting."

If it is not meant to be a question, I think that the first sentence is correct and the second is not. Am I wrong? I know that this is very basic, but I am confused what I have recently heard from my native english speaking roommate. He sometimes use the second sentence I have written above.

The first sentence is the only correct one.
A native speaker would not say 2.
He might have said "What are you doing? It's so disgusting!"
Why don't you ask him?

The first one is correct.the second one,with the given punctuation,isn't.
