"apart" vs "a part"
Hi,
please could you tell me how to distinguish meanings of the following two sentences? The pronunciation is the same.
It is apart of my business.
It is a part of my business.
Thanks a lot.

Hello, I am not a teacher, just a learner.
In your fisrt sentence, 'apart' is not one part of your business, it's not include in your business but it is exlude of it.
In the second phrase, it is like a part of cake (one part, two parts), maybe you have two functions in your work.
Have a nice day.

Re: "apart" vs "a part"
Thank you, I know the difference in the meaning, but these two sentences sound the same, how can I know what is meant when I only hear it. The difference is a big one.
E.g.
I am a part of it.
I am apart of it.
Sometimes the context clarifies this but sometimes not.

If someone says "I am a part of it" you shouldn't confuse it with "apart" because "apart" never goes with "of".

Re: "apart" vs "a part"
I see, how can I express "I am not involved in this / a part of this." by using "apart"?
Thanks.

Re: "apart" vs "a part"
We usually say "apart from" if we mean apart.
