Would you be kind enough to revise the following sentences?
At the end of the race the two horses were neck and neck.
For months John and Harry seemed to be neck and neck in Alice's favor.
neck and neck = equal or nearly equal in a race or contest; abreast; tied
He went on to win by a neck from Crofter.
by a neck = by a close margin
(win) by a neck = become minimal advantage
He wore a blue shirt open at the neck.
open at the neck = shaped neck; with neck opening
He'd had the infernal neck to say I wasn't going to marry the man.
infernal neck = impudence, impertinence
They sat talking and necking in the car for another ten minutes.
neck = kiss, embrace, or fondle
Mother asked Mary to go to the store when she was free, but not to break her neck over it.
John nearly broke his neck trying not to be late to school.
break one’s neck over = to do all you possibly can; try your hardest.
We have to think of how to break the neck of the crisis.
