Retake an example... Is it used?

I'm writing a thesis.

I've introduced an example, earlier in the thesis, about a banana.
Now, I want people to know I'll reuse that example. Can I write:

To illustrate this criterion, we can retake the banana example: ....


Is retake a commonly used word, for this kind of thing? The word "remember" doesn't really express what I want. I want to say I'll analyse the previous example.
