    Default Active and Passive

    Please check out the following sentences;
    (1) Nobody stole anything in the room.(Active)
    (2)Nothing was stolen in the room.(p)
    (3)Anything was not stolen in the room.(p)
    I think (3) is wrong cos I think nothing is more suitable.
    Please explain me clearly .
    I m looking forward to thanking u.

    Yes, (3) is wrong. In my opinion (2) would be better as: Nothingwas stolen from the room.

    I do agree 3 is wrong.
    It is more appropriate to use nothing or none as it is negative and emphasizing that no single thing was stolen from the room.
    None was stolen from the room.

    # 3 is wrong because anything should be used with a negative
    Example
    There wasn't anything stolen from the room. Hence, this can only be used in the passive, because there was no action taken.
