leave behind a cocoon
Hi,
The child does not want to leave behind a cocoon of protectiveness.
Does it mean the child want to be protected or want to be free from parent's protection?
Tks,

Tks,
The child insulates himself in a cocoon of protectiveness and finds it very comfortable and safe. He doesn't want to leave behind (seperate from) a cocoon-like protectiveness.
