How to find the correct preposition

Where can the correct prepositions easily be found?
Often I find other prepositions in texts than mentioned in dicitionaries. With a 'string search' in the WWW then I try to find out whether this usage is common in the UK - a very tedious work and often doubts still remain.

E.g. They are critical about vaccination - or - They are critical of vaccination. The latter is definetely correct, but what about the first? Is it correct too but has a different meaning?

Where could I look this up?

I consult these dictionaries online:
critical - Definitions available for critical from Cambridge Dictionary Online: Free English Dictionary and Thesaurus
critical - Definition from Longman English Dictionary Online

Apart from that, some months ago I bought Oxford Collocations dictionary for students of English. It´s very useful.

By the way, I couldn´t find critical ´about´.
