    Default drives safely/carefully

Where I live, the common road sign on the highway is 'Drive safely'.

I wonder whether 'safely' is the correct adverb. I think it should be 'carefully'.

    Thanks in advance.

Safely means in a manner involving little or no risk to avoid danger. Both versions are fine.
