Just before Newsnight on Wednesday evening, there was a loud bang and the lights went out. Well, I say 'just before Newsnight'... Actually, as I couldn't stomach yet another wrist-slashing
analysis of Alistair Darling's pre-election statement or the latest pious update from the Copenhagen 'climate change' summit, I was watching a re-run of Rab C Nesbitt.
What does 'wrist-slashing' mean? Thanks!
"Depressing", that is, makes you want to slash (slit) your wrists to commit suicide. Presumably, he means the person's speech was full of gloomy statements that would make you depressed.
Thank you for your help. I got it.
