· Mandate that states collecting child support on behalf of a TANF recipient give the entire payment to the children for whose benefit it has been paid.Dear all,What's the meaning of the underlined sentence? Thanks in advance.
The child support was assessed to support a specific child. It's non-transferable. You can't use it to support another child. And all of the money that was assessed to support that child must be given to the child. (This last part seems curious ... I would think the entire payment should be given to the guardian of the child for whose benefit it was paid, but wih a mandated stipulation that it is all to be used for the benefit of the child, and not the benefit or liquor bill of the guardian.)
