    Hi,your help is appreciated here.In the following exercise,which one is the
    better choice?And please give a brief explanation.Thanks a lot!

    Hi,

    I am feeling too tired to drive any more;will you take over.

    In the above sentence the phrasel verb 'take over' seems to be more appropriate as it expresses control to run something.

    You are correct, and "take up" is wrong.

    If you take over a task, you start doing the task and the other person stops. Therefore, "take over" is correct, regardless of what the answer key says.

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
