Default new student learning english, speaking manderin

Hello teachers, :D
My fiancee is Chinese, She is wanting desperately to learn the English language in order to find work and feel socially complete. We had been communicating for 3 years via msn messenger and some help from the translating office. She is now with me here in USA and eagerly wanting to learn. She is doing fairly well with many words in text, but has difficulty with verbal recognition and needs work on the basics and vocabulary.
We are hoping she will be able to learn via the computer or other home based learning methods. Can anyone recommend some good material or other useful information?
Thank You,
Russ

Here's a selection of software from Amazon:
http://www.usingenglish.com/amazon/us/software/esl.html

Here's a database of sites to learn:
http://www.usingenglish.com/links/

Here's a great place for practice tests:
http://www.english-test.net/

Don't forget, she can come to the forum and ask teachers question directly- we're here to help. Get her to post something up so we can see her level and make more specific suggestions.
